SUMMARY:Priesthood and Wives-Widows Banquet
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce the 2024 Pastors of Zion Priesthood and Wives – Widows Banquet. It is always a great time to get together and celebrate the great sacrifices that our wives and widows have made in support of their husbands as they endeavor to serve our Lord. This is a catered event\, we could not consider this a celebration of the wonderful women in our lives by asking them to provide anything more than their presence. \nYou can expect a wonderful meal\, some entertainment\, and great fellowship. To make this event even more special\, we would ask the men to wear similar attire that they would wear on any given Sunday. We all know how our wives enjoy us in a suit\, so let’s indulge them for one evening. As an added suggestion (not required)\, a corsage for that special lady in your life is an added bonus. Let’s face it\, there are not very many formal events these days where we can have a special evening with our wives. \nPer our tradition\, those wonderful women whom have lost the love of their life that dedicated so much time to their husband’s Priesthood office will be provided this experience at no charge to them. It is the least we can do for all of the sacrifices that they have made throughout their marriages. We pray that the fellowship\, food\, and entertainment will be a blessing to them. \nI hope that each Priesthood couple and each Priesthood Widow will consider attending the Banquet. It is a time to rejuvenate old friendships\, make new ones\, and come together as one heart and mind in Christ. \nYour Brother in Christ\, \nShaun Turner\nPOZ Chairman

SUMMARY:Homosexuality and the Church
DESCRIPTION:Homosexuality has been a taboo issue for the Church for many generations. Although the act of homosexuality is in conflict with our Creators intent\, [as prescribed within the Scriptures]\, it doesn’t alleviate the Church from addressing the issue and providing a nurturing ministry to those that suffer the temptation of it. It is incumbent upon those individuals who have persevered through the trials and temptations of homosexuality to provide the tools to those that are currently tempted by a physical attraction to the same gender. As a Church\, it is our responsibility to understand the reality of this topic and how we can best help our friends\, family\, or even ourselves. \nElder Andrew King will be presiding over a discussion with a couple individuals who have walked through this struggle and continue to love God and seek to serve Him. This ministry is geared at providing an environment to have an open dialogue with Christians that suffer with homosexual thoughts and/or acts. This is also an effort to reassure those that are lost that there are Brothers and Sisters in the Faith that have overcome these trials with a firm faith in Jesus Christ. \nThis presentation/ministry will NOT be recorded. \nPlease keep all of our brothers and sisters in Christ in your prayers\, because we all suffer under the sinful nature of this world.
